Statement: Disciplinary Hearing - STM Sports & Cefn Albion

A disciplinary hearing has taken place in relation to the charges issued to Cefn Albion and STM Sports following the FAW Trophy Semi-Final on 16 March 2019. 

The decisions of the FAW Disciplinary Panel were as follows:

  • Cefn Albion, pursuant to the FAW’s Non-Discrimination Regulations, were charged with the Disciplinary Offence as set out under FAW Rule 38.1.13, for the alleged racial or other discriminatory behaviour, conduct or language of its spectators whilst attending the FAW Trophy Semi-Final. After carefully considering the written, verbal and video evidence submitted, the Panel decided that the charge against Cefn Albion be found not proven. 
  • Cefn Albion were charged with the Disciplinary Offence as set out under FAW Rule 38.1.13 for the alleged failure of its spectator(s) to conduct themselves in an orderly fashion or failure to refrain from violence, threatening, abusive, obscene or provocative behaviour, conduct or language whilst attending the FAW Trophy Semi-Final. After carefully considering the written, verbal and video evidence submitted, the Panel decided that the charge against Cefn Albion be found proven. As a result, the Club were fined and ordered to pay costs. 
  • Cefn Albion were charged with the Disciplinary Offence as set out under FAW Rule 38.1.14 for their spectators alleged encroachment of the pitch area during the FAW Trophy Semi-Final. After carefully considering the written, verbal and video evidence submitted, the Panel decided that the charge against Cefn Albion be found proven. As a result, the Club were fined and ordered to pay costs. 
  • STM Sports were charged with the Disciplinary Offence as set out under FAW Rule 38.1.13 for the alleged failure of its spectator(s) to conduct themselves in an orderly fashion or failure to refrain from violence, threatening, abusive, obscene or provocative behaviour, conduct or language whilst attending the FAW Trophy Semi-Final. After carefully considering the written, verbal and video evidence submitted, the Panel decided that the charge against STM Sports be found proven. As a result, the Club were fined and ordered to pay costs. 

In accordance with FAW Rules, the Clubs may appeal the above decisions to an Appeals Panel of the Football Association of Wales in accordance with FAW Rules 43.2.3 and 44.1.3.
