National League Board Decide To Curtail FAW Futsal League Season

The FAW National League Board have made the difficult decision to curtail the FAW Futsal League for the 2019/20 season. The decision has been taken as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and in accordance with Welsh Government’s lockdown guidelines and measures.

The two Conferences (North and South) have been curtailed using a Points Per Game method, crowning KS Hussars as the champions for Conference North and Swansea University as the Conference South champions.

The FAW National League Board have also agreed that Wales’ representative for the UEFA Futsal Champions League will also be decided using a Points Per Game method, as it is no possible to play a Conference Champions Play-Off prior to the UEFA deadline of nominating a representative. As a result of PPG and Goal Difference Per Game (GDPG), the FAW will nominate Swansea University as its champion club to UEFA by 17 August for the 2020/21 season of the UEFA Fustal Champions League.

The draw for the 2020/21 UEFA Futsal Champions League will take place on 2 September in Nyon, with matches to be played on 13-18 October.

The FAW will work in line with Welsh Government regulations to ensure the return of the FAW Futsal League for the 2020/21 season when it is safe to do so.
