Paul Bodin’s U21 side will travel to Zenica to face Bosnia & Herzegovina on Friday 4 September, their first match since a 1-0 win in the reverse fixture at the Racecourse last November. The U21s were due to face Moldova at home and Germany away prior to the COVID-19 pandemic. Both matches have been rescheduled to take place on November 13 and 17 respectively, while an away match against Belgium originally scheduled for Friday 9 October stays as planned. Bodin’s side currently sit third in the group, one point behind group leaders Belgium.

Also rescheduled to take place in September is the UEFA Men’s U19 EURO 2020 Elite Round, where Cymru were due to host the mini tournament in March. Rob Edwards’ side will now face Germany, Serbia and Austria on Wednesday 2, Saturday 5 and Tuesday 8 September respectively. The venues for the Elite Round will be confirmed in due course and the group winners will progress to the Finals taking place in October and November in Northern Ireland. The side, featuring recent English Premier League winner Neco Williams, reached the Elite Round after topping their Qualifying Round group last November.

In late September, Cymru’s women’s U17s side will travel to St. George’s Park, England to take part in their rescheduled UEFA WU17 EURO 2020 Elite Round. Cymru will face France (Sunday 13 September), England (Wednesday 16 September) and Slovakia (Saturday 19 September) after reaching the Elite Round for a second successive year. The Qualifying Round team featured Carrie Jones and Maria Francis-Jones, who have both been capped for Jayne Ludlow’s senior team in the last 12 months.

All matches mentioned above will be played behind closed doors, in line the UEFA Executive Committee’s decision in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. UEFA will monitor the situation and advise on any full or partial lifting of restrictions at the appropriate time, which will also adhere to relevant Government guidelines.
