Decisions of National Cup Board: FAW Welsh Cup - Qualifying Round 1

The FAW National Cup Board met remotely today (15 July) to consider alleged breaches of JD Welsh Cup Rules in seven matches played in Qualifying Round 1 last weekend.

The National Cup Board made the following decisions:

 

  • CPD Mountain Rangers FC 1-3 Nefyn Utd FC

Following an official protest from opponents Mountain Rangers FC and in accordance with JD Welsh Cup Rule 20a, the National Cup Board removed Nefyn Utd from the Competition for a breach of Competition Rule 19b.

Mountain Rangers were deemed to have won the tie and will face Porthmadog away in Qualifying Round 2.

 

  • Wattsville FC 6-3 Rogerstone AFC

The National Cup Board found Wattsville FC guilty of breaching JD Welsh Cup Rule 20a and have removed the Club from the Competition.

Rogerstone AFC are deemed to have won the tie and will progress to Qualifying Round 2 to face Chepstow away in Qualifying Round 2.

 

  • Ynysddu Welfare 2-4 Treforest FC

The National Cup Board found Treforest FC guilty of breaching FAW Rule 62 and JD Welsh Cup Rule 19i and in accordance with JD Welsh Cup Rule 20a, the Club have been removed from the Competition. Ynysddu Welfare are deemed to have won the tie and will progress to Qualifying Round 2 to face Cardiff Airport away in Qualifying Round 2 .

 

  • Treharris Athletic Western 1-2 FC Cwmaman

The National Cup Board found FC Cwmaman guilty of breaching FAW Rule 62 and JD Welsh Cup Rule 19i and in accordance with JD Welsh Cup Rule 20a, the Club have been removed from the Competition.

Treharris Athletic Western are deemed to have won the tie and will progress to Qualifying Round 2 to face Baglan Dragons in Qualifying Round 2, in a match which has been reversed to Treharris due to the unavailability of Baglan Dragons’ registered ground.

 

Dafen Welfare, Llanrug Utd and Ton & Gelli BGC were all considered for breaching FAW Rule 62 and JD Welsh Cup Rule 19i, but as these Clubs lost their Qualifying Round 1 ties, there was no decision required from the National Cup Board.

All seven Clubs will be referred to the FAW Compliance Department.
