Cymru will return to action in the autumn, restarting the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifying Campaign. The match against Finland will kick off a week of triple headers in September and will act as a preparation match ahead of the World Cup Qualifying campaign matches away against Belarus on Sunday 5 September before returning home to face Estonia on Wednesday 8 September.

Finland are familiar foes in recent years, having faced the Scandinavian country twice last year as part of the Nations League campaign. Kieffer Moore’s late strike secured a Cymru victory in Helsinki for the group’s opening Nations League match. Meanwhile in the final match of the campaign, Harry Wilson, Daniel James and Kieffer Moore were all on the scoresheet in Cardiff for the 3-1 victory which secured Cymru’s promotion to League A.

This upcoming match against Finland will be Cymru’s first since this summer’s EURO 2020 tournament. Rob Page’s men finished 2nd in Group A and secured automatic qualification to the round of 16 where the journey sadly came to an end against Denmark in Amsterdam. Finland was also involved in EURO 2020 this summer but failed to make it out of the group stage, finishing 3rd place in their group with 3 points.

Details of whether spectators will be allowed at this Friendly Match in Helsinki is yet to be confirmed. If spectators are allowed, ticketing details will be communicated in due course.
