Cymru futsal manager Gareth Wallwork has named his 16-player squad for the Home Nations championship at St George’s Park, England this weekend.
Wallwork’s side take will take on Northern Ireland on Friday, Scotland on Saturday and will end the competition with a match against the hosts England on Sunday afternoon.
Preparation for the championship took place in Austria last month where Cymru beat the hosts 8-1 in the opening match but the spoils were shared in a 2-2 draw two days later.
The championship will be Cymru’s final matches before the Futsal EURO qualifying round matches at the end of January. Cymru have been drawn against Norway and hosts North Macedonia in Group I.
There will be updates on the @Cymru Twitter page during the Home Nations Championships.
The Home Nations championship has been identified as a chance to introduce new players into the International environment and to give other squad members valuable court time. Several key players are unavailable this weekend but it is the perfect opportunity for other members of the squad to make their mark. All three games will be tough and offer different challenges but it will provide the players with some valuable preparation for the qualifiers next year.
